In general, I don't really have a preference of long or short. However, it can change depending on the day. If I have a lot of time, I like reading longer posts. If not, I'll quickly read shorter ones and leave longer ones for later.
But I should mention that I don't read reviews until after I've read the book myself, so I might not be the best person to ask in this case. I like to get the gist of the converstion -- the reviewer thought it was a good book or a bad book -- which I usually get from the title or the first line. I'm not one for spoilers -- I don't even like reading jacket blurbs that explain the story.
Not sure if this helps or confuses the issue for you -- but I hope it helps!
